Putin partially suspends tax deals with 37 states, US
MOSCOW, Aug 8 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree suspending several provisions in the taxation agreements with 38 unfriendly states, including the U.S., and ordered the Foreign Ministry to send the notifications, according to a document published on the website for legal information on Tuesday.
"Presuming the necessity to take immediate steps due to the perpetration of unfriendly actions towards the Russian Federation, its citizens and legal entities by several states I rule… that the following clauses in the international agreements of the Russian Federation will be suspended… the agreement between the Russian Federation and the U.S. on double taxation prevention, on prevention of evasion of taxes on income and capital," the decree read.
The president ordered the government to submit the bill on suspension of the clauses to the State Duma, parliament's lower chamber.
